Various species of wild animals can be seen from the camp, or on our game drives on an open 4x4 vehicle. Species such as Buffalo, Giraffe, Eland, Kudu, Blue Wildebeest (Gnu), Impala, Red Hartebeest, Zebra, Warthog, Steenbok, Duiker, Leopard, Jackal, Brown Hyena, Baboon and various cats and other carnivores occur. We will shortly also introduce Rhino, which will mean that three of the "Big Five" will be on the reserve. It is the intention of the Leeuwfontein Collaborative Reserve to have all of the "Big Five" within the next five to ten years on the reserve.

Leeuwfontein is also a bird watcher's paradise. Our bird list is nearing the 300 mark. Birds such as Ostrich, Fish Eagle, Vulture, Jackal-buzzard, Secretary bird, Tumbler, Crimson-breasted Shrike and many more can be viewed.
